"Made in Cherry" quilt

Ever since last January when I saw this pattern by Sarah Fielke and this quilt along I knew I wanted to make this quilt.  Well, I finally had the chance to make it.  I made it for a Christmas present for my mother-in-law and chose to use a black/white/yellow/gray color scheme and used Kona Coal for the solid.  I just love how it turned out.  It's a whopper of a quilt at 90" x 90".  I goofed up a little bit while constructing the quilt but it all worked out in the end. I should have followed (or at least read) the directions instead of thinking I already knew what to do with the half square triangle pieces.  Oh well, live and learn.

I can't wait to see how my MIL decides to quilt it.  It's kind of a tricky thing to give my MIL a quilt for a present because she's also my longarm quilter so at the same time I'm also giving her work to do.  She doesn't mind though.  I'll try to add another picture after it's all finished.

There are a couple of alternate sizes for this quilt and I think it would be just precious with little 2" squares for a baby quilt.

Have a great day!

It is beautiful and so very special, the back is fairly neutral so quilting it will be fun! Feathers and stars, or florals and whirleygigs to match some of the star fabrics??????
