The two colors are Kona white and Kona tomato. A tremendous amount of Kona tomato actually. The woman I ordered the fabric from probably thought I was a nut. At first I was just going to make a small square so I only ordered 1 yard. Then I decided to increase the size so I ordered another 4 yards. Then, I decided to go all the way with it and ordered another 9 yards. Geez-e-petes. I ordered all the fabric from the same source so I could fool myself into believing it all came from the same bolt. If it didn't, I don't want to know about it.
The Grandmomma (aka my mother-in-law) quilted it for me. She couldn't have done a better job on it. I love it! Thank you so much Grandmomma. You are awesome! That woman is amazingly talented. She would rather be boiled in hot grease than quilt using a pantogram on her long arm machine so she custom quilts everything she does. I don't know how she does it, but she does. I need to show you some of her creations one day. I left the quilting design all up to her imagination and she totally rocked it.
Look, she even stitched my name and the year on it as a surprise for me.
The backing fabric is from the Poppy Lane by Alice Kennedy fabric line. It took forever and a day for me to decide what to put on the back of this quilt but I'm so happy with my choice. This one is going on my bed. I'm planning to paint our bedroom a wonderful shade of aqua to go with it. yum!

I knew Mizi had so much of herself invested in this quilt so it took me a while to set the quilting pattern in my head and I tried very hard to go slowly on it and keep the flow evenly paced. It worked and I satisfied myself and Mitzi...Yeah! for a gorgeous quilt. I could have sold it several times before it left VA for GA. I love doing quilting for her it makes my heart glow!
